The aim of the association is to preserve, promote, foster and
advance, in a manner consistent with the public interest, the
Armenian culture in Diaspora.
Its activities include folkloric dance group, drama, cultural
nights, radio program, social functions and community gatherings.
The
Armenian 'Nor Serount' Folkloric Dance Group
has a proud history of outstanding performances in both Sydney and
Melbourne. The dance group with over 50 members first came on
stage with performances at Parramatta Leagues Club in 1989. This
has been followed by a number of exclusive dance concerts at
University of Technology Sydney - Kuringai Campus, Melbourne's
Monash University, Zenith Theatre in Chatswood and Ryde-Eastwood
Leagues Club.
The dance group also performs at the National Folkloric Festivals
held at the Sydney Opera House each year. Appearances by the dance
group have also been made at the NSW State Library and a number of
cultural functions in the community. The dance lessons are
conducted free of charge and run by volunteer instructors.

station 2RRR (Ryde Regional Radio) 88.5FM. The program has been on
air since 16th November 1988 and broadcasts every Sunday from
7.00pm to 9.00pm. The 'Voice of Nor Serount' radio features the
latest local and international news, sports and current affairs as
well as a mix of traditional and contemporary Armenian music. It
is entertaining and informative community radio at its best.
It is also the first Armenian radio program that in July, 1997 was
launched on the Internet, which can be heard at any time and
anywhere in the world on www.hunchak.org.au
